Using the passion of young student filmmakers to reimagine the 97th Academy Awards ceremony by appealing to a younger audience through college film festivals, and adding a new award category to showcase how young filmmakers are the future of the industry.

Throughout the year, camera crews will follow certain students at colleges such as UCLA, NYU, Columbia University, USC, Loyola etc. to document the student’s passion and process.

The Film Festival winners from FOUR main festivals will receive nominations in this year’s new category..

Segments of the documentary will be shown during the Best Student Film category of the ceremony.

Introduce a movie-themed collaboration with Doordash that features an in-app movie trivia.

As well as in-app movie combos.

Four student film festivals in major film cities will feature interactive pop-up experiences.

Academy Award winner and nominees across different fields of filmmaking will be offering workshops and masterclasses with the student filmmakers that had won in the selected film festivals, offering their advice to each student regarding their body of work.

This process will be documented on film as well.

A screening of all the student film nominees + documentary will take place the night before the 97th Oscars ceremony.

The Fan’s Choice will be the first category announced, there will be live voting for this category.

At the end of the ceremony, the Academy’s vote on Best Picture will be announced as normal - this will allow two films to celebrate a victory.
